Bolero in Red

I have a friend in Paris. She has a bolero that she likes very much. Last time I went to see her she asked me if I could knit it to her in red.
I took on the fun challenge and the possibility to learn something new.

To be sure about choosing the right colour I decided to buy the yarn in Paris. I went to the department store Le Bon Marché which is situated on the left bank in the 7th arr. They have a very nice needlework section with several high quality yarn brands.
The yarn I chose is Angel from Debbie Bliss. It's in kidmohair and silk, a real luxury!

The form of the bolero is quite simple and the clear stitch definition made it possible to get the pattern right fairly quickly. I've knitted and blocked the main pieces so what remains to be done is to sew together and then to knit the ribbings.

I want to give this bolero a more professional look so when knitting the ribbings I'm going to cast on in Kitchener Rib.

The reward for this work is to meet the Spring in Paris!
