It will be another skirt

This yarn was intended to be a wrap skirt. But during the work and despite the changes I made, I was disappointed with the result.
So I unraveled it. And it feels good!
This lovely highland wool from Peru will be something else.

But I want a warm knitted skirt so
now I'm making this one.

Wonderfully soft!

Waves Wrap

It's wonderful, my shawl in waves!
Crocheted in mohair yarns and by choosing the colors
one by one.

The pattern makes me think of Missoni.

The pattern is from a swedish crochet book, 'Virka mera' though I made some changes. You find the technique in any crochet book I think. It's crocheted in thin mohair yarn (about 200m/25g) with two strands held together using crochet hook 5 mm.
Moreover I choosed to make it longer and to leave out the fringe. It's about 210 x 40 cm, I casted on 304 st.

It will keep me warm falls and winters to come!

Stylish Cardigan

I have quite a lot of magazines and books about knitting
and other needlework.
To spend an hour or two in my 'library' is one of my pleasures.
I've been thinking about knitting this cardigan a long time now.
You find it in Rowan Knitting Magazine Number 28.
It's so stylish in its simplicity!

Kid Classic, in lambswool and kid mohair.
A wonderfully soft luxury!

I've chosen the shade Earth 872.

Pastella Scarf

It's finally finished!
The scarf in the silk yarn I bought in Japan 2009.
I started this in april last year and it has been my travel knitting.

It measures about 20 x 220 cm.

The pattern description is found in the first post.

Waves take shape

I'm on my way.
I call it a free color pattern, I choose the colors during the work. The yarn with shimmer which I wanted to use in this shawl, I've decided to use in another project.
In this shawl I use only mohair yarns.

I like it also as a scarf but it will be a shawl.

Rowan Magazine 54

It's always exciting to open a new knitting magazine.
Sometimes you feel almost overwhelmed by all those
designs that you want to make.
In this new issue of Rowan Magazine the themes of this autumn are 'Romancing', 'Folk' and 'Essentials'.
And of course here are a number of interesting
designs just waiting to be realized.

Rowan Knitting & Crochet Magazine Number 54

'Silla' has everything. Interesting & elegant!

'Armenia' makes me want to embroider on knits.
'Christine', wild simplicity.

'Chrystal', surprising design.

'Kashmir Scarf Wrap' by colorful Kaffe Fassett
Love the functional design but probably I choose
a more subtle color combination.

Crochet in Waves

Summer is wonderful!
I love the life-giving sun, the warmth and the greenery.
However I think of the lovely colorful fall and beautiful knitted and crocheted sweaters and shawls.

This wave pattern shawl is an excellent project to use up
residual yarns.

Here are the colors for my 'Shawl in Waves'.
The dark yarn is in dark brown.

The pattern is from a swedish crochet book,
'Virka mera' by Ewa Wincent and Paula Hammerskog.

If you know how to crochet a wave pattern you can make  a shawl like this or your own kind of shawl or scarf.
