An Elegant Shawlette

When I showed some of my yarns to a friend, she fell in love with this sock yarn in merino wool from Malabrigo. This is her favorite color and now I'm knitting a nice little shawl for her.

I found the elegant shawlette Blyth, designed by Kitman Figueroa, in The Knitter, Issue 41. You can also buy the pattern on Ravelry. This design is so interesting. It's scalloped edges and unusual patterning make it really special.

The shawlette is worked from the bottom up.

I love the scalloped edges, it gives the shawl a soft feel. I will definitely knit one for myself as well.

A Great Gloss

I have a few make-up favourites.
Some products are so good that I buy them again and again.
One is this lip-gloss from Clarins.

Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector

This great gloss is a softly textured moisturizing lip gel which makes your lips smooth and shiny without being sticky. It has a soft sweet scent, a sheer covering and a 3D shimmer that makes your lips look fuller.

It comes in 3 shades.
01. Rose Shimmer 02. Apricot Shimmer 03. Nude Shimmer

Natural colored shades which reflect your lips natural color.

Inspiring Lace Cards

To knit lace is kind of exciting. For a beginner it may seem to be complicated when it in fact only is made up of repetitions of increases (yarnovers) and different kinds of decreases.
Depending on the yarn quality and the pattern the result can differ in a range of ways from casual, simple and elegant to sweet, romantic and sensual.

This box contains a deck of 25 pattern cards.

It's a source of inspiration with lace patterns that suit both beginners and more experienced lace knitters.

Each stitch pattern offers suggestions for use and has both graph and written directions. The swatches are generous in size so it's quite easy to get a sense for the pattern. I really like the pictures and the layout which gives you more creative ideas.

A nice little collection of lace stitches.

Great with a Gold Stripe

Finished and done! The top with the stripe in gold. Knitted in 'Panama' from Rowan. The yarn is a perfect summer yarn. It has a nice drape and a cool feeling.

The finishing work took it's time. But when it turns out to be good it feels so nice.

Lovely colors!

I love the deep scooped neckline, it's really flattering for my broad shoulders.

The design is Amber from Rowan.

A Sublime Cardigan

Finally, at the little shop Mattssons Band in Stockholm, I found buttons for my cardigan. I wanted simple buttons to give it a clean and simple look that is easy to style. I used a basic pattern for the cardigan and I made a few changes to get the shape I wanted.
The yarn is Superior from Filatura di Crosa.

It looks like an ordinary cardigan but it's more than an ordinary cardigan. It's so light, so warm and so soft.

Luxury in the form of a cardigan.

Crochet Scarf

With two more materials pack from Japan, I continue to crochet accessories.

This yarn is soon a scarf.

The description of the design with everything
you need to know,
the figures and the symbols.

The pattern

The symbols mean the following:
an oval ring = chain stitch
a cross = singel crochet
a vertical line with two small lines = double crochet

The width of the scarf is 42 stitches.

A simple pattern in a fancy yarn.
