A Lacy Cowl Shawl

This cowl shawl is so pretty! That's how I feel when I look at it. The lace pattern looks like flowers and the ruffled edge looks like floral clocks.

The choice of yarn gave this cowl shawl a heavier drape and more stretch than de models in the pattern. It turns into a little poncho when you pull it down over the shoulders.

Since I have a rather firm tension/gauge I knitted the lace pattern twice as long as in the pattern. I even think that it looks better with more lace pattern.
The polo neck falls down because of the heavier drape and turns into a cowl neck.

This cowl shawl is a gift to a friend. She thinks it's awesome! She just love it!

The different lace patterns and the ruffled edge make this design a fun and various project.

Autumn in Skirt

Sometimes I feel almost overwhelmed. How getting enough time?
All these lovely designs that I see in books and magazines.
To knit, to chochet or to sew. There is so much that is so nice, so chic,
so cool, so awesome, so edgy, so classic, so elegant, so versatile
and so much that I simply want!
The answer is simple. Choose one thing. Finish it. Then choose the next thing. So simple...

vogueknitting.com

Now I've chosen.
I can already see myself in this skirt.
That's a good sign!

In my stash I found this yarn.
Rowan Classic Silk Wool DK in a soft shimmering gold beige shade.
Très chic!
This yarn is discontinued.

The yarn in the pattern is a worsted/aran weight yarn.
After swatching I find the DK yarn perfect for this project.
So now it's time to recount with my gauge/tension
and then to get started!

Iris Day Cream

In all areas of life the choices nowadays are almost endless. Even when it comes to simple things like a face cream. There are so many and the curiosity sometimes leads me to try a new one. But, there is a cream that I return to again and again.
For me and for my skin it's actually the best.

Iris Day Cream from Weleda

This cream is for dry to very dry skin. I have normal to dry skin and I think it's perfect for me. I use the cream both morning and night. The scent of Iris Day Cream is fresh and the texture is quite rich. I massage the cream into the skin which increases the circulation and makes the skin look even better.
The skin feels and looks moisturized, refreshed and soft!
Luminous!

A Warming Cowl

A romantic lacy cowl for a warm and beautiful winter!
Cosy under a coat or to wear, as shown, as a warming and elegant accessory.

This cowl shawl is designed by Jane Sowerby and you find the pattern in The Knitter, Issue 41 and on Ravelry.

The yarn I'm knitting with is Merinosilk from Grignasco. It's a fine yarn in extrafine merinowool and silk. 100 g measures 1400 m.

A wonderful light yarn that can easily be knitted with several strands. I'm using 3 strands knitting this cowl shawl.

Instead of increasing the number of stitches to shape the cowl you progressively increase the needle size to achieve the fit you want.
A simple way of shaping lace knitting!

The Perfect Knitting Needle

In many English and American knitting patterns they use knitting needles in 25 mm sizes, like 3,25 mm and 3,75 mm. I have long thought that I get along fine without those sizes since I knit rather tight. But now I've come to the conclusion that I need them.

I've ordered these circular needles from the US, from a company that offers free delivery worldwide, addi needle shop. To where I live it takes about 14 days to delivery and the products are always very well packaged. This is so important since, for a knitter, knitting needles are precious things!

I like light and smooth knitting needles.

Knitting needles from addi, luxury for my hands!

Elegance in Orange

To knit this shawlette was a wonderful challenge. The pattern demanded koncentration every single stitch every single row.

To drop a stitch in a pattern where each row is different... you can imagine how this can end.

My ability to focus just got even better by knitting Blyth.
Thanks!

DESIGNER Knitting

This knitting magazine is a true source of inspiration for every knitter.
Vogue Knitting or Designer Knitting which is the name of the European edition, is an american knitting magazine that was  published for the first time in 1932.
From the beginning the standards of quality, high-style high fashion were evident in the pages.
The interest in hand knitting has varied greatly since then and today it's greater than ever.
Filled with informative articles from the knitting world and trendy, classical and extravagant designs this magazine is a must-have for me.

The Shawlette Blyth

It's a little challenge to knit this shawlette.
But a fun challenge!

I like the color, it really brings out the pattern.
